These geometric pattern designs, made with KARMA glass, are inspired by the technique of mosaicist Gian Domenico Facchina, recognized as the inventor of modern mosaic. His innovative reverse-on-paper method revolutionized the art of mosaic, enabling the creation of flatter and more uniform surfaces. It also facilitated the preparation of large-scale mosaics in workshops, allowing for their efficient installation in various locations. One of the first projects in which Facchina adopted this technique was the creation of the mosaics for the Paris Opera in 1858.
